Schuh / 2011

Schuh is one of the UK's largest high street shoe retailers and they requested the GSofA product design students  to analyse their current retail experience and subsequently develop and deliver a new or complimenting in-store shopping experience for customers.

From this I developed ‘Transparency’, an interactive shopping companion that allows you, the consumer, to make informative ethical decisions on the shoes you buy. Transparency provides you with information on a product, that you might have never considered before. For instance, it  can provide you with information on the wages of the factory workers involved in manufacturing the shoes, how much land it took to produce the materials needed for your shoes and which materials on your shoes come from natural resources and which ones are chemically synthesised. All this information and more creates a product that is more transparent, allowing the consumer to make ethically informed choices on the shoes they buy.
